Internationally and nationally acclaimed Toby Walker has been hailed as a roots music fingerstyle guitar virtuoso and songwriter who has toured the US, England, Wales, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. Walker has been featured in the New York Times, the London Sunday Times, the London BBC, Sirius-XM radio and was the 1st place recipient of the International Blues Challenge Award - Solo division - given out by the Blues Foundation in Memphis TN.

Walker blends the styles of blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, rock and old time jazz into his own unique style.  Jorma Kaukonen of Hot Tuna and the Jefferson Airplane says "Flat out... you have to hear this great musician... I'm blown away" and has employed Walker to teach at his famous Fur Peace Ranch Guitar Camp for 6 years. In 2010 Walker won the NY Music Award for 'Best Instrumental CD,' sharing the honors with Mariah Carey, Rufus Wainwright and Judy Collins among many others.

Walker has recently released eight instructional guitar DVD's for the world famous company Homespun Tapes which have been getting rave reviews. His latest CD release - Mileage -has been getting all kinds of wonderful reviews in the traditional roots music world.

Carnegie Hall acknowledged his rare talents and  hired him to augment and teach in their "American Roots" program aimed at honor level middle school students.

Toby’s passion for blues, rags, folk, and other traditional American music drove him to leave an apartment crammed full of recordings, books and instruments for the Mississippi Delta, Virginia and the Carolinas where he tracked down some of the more obscure - but immensely talented - music makers of an earlier era. He learned directly from Eugene Powell, James "Son" Thomas,Etta Baker, and R.L Burnside, among others.

Austin MacRae is a singer/songwriter residing in Ithaca, NY.  He has showcased his music regionally at venues such as the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (Emerging Artist), Turtle Hill Folk Festival (New Voices Showcase), Ithaca Festival, Oswego Music Hall, Homer Center for the Arts, Bill Knowlton's Bluegrass Ramble Picnic, Funk 'n Waffles and other area venues.  His debut album, Bats in the Attic, won a Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) for Best Folk Recording of 2015.  He was recently selected to showcase his work in the Suzi Wollenberg DJ Showcase at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference in Stamford, CT.  His work has also been featured on a variety of radio stations and shows, including the Sundilla Radio Hour, hosted by Kelly Walker.

Kicking Down Doors sprung out of the original music composed by Autumn Walden and Ernie Tokay.

"In many ways, Philly-area country folk combo Kicking Down Doors got together by accident.Singer-lyricist Autumn Walden came across singer-guitarist Ernie Tokay at his Little Spiders Have Big Dreams Studio in Chester County. Before they’d even known each other for a day, they’d already written a song together. The two musicians clicked so readily and had such a productive streak of writing music together that the project quickly became a functioning band”  remarked John Vettese of the Key Sessions on WXPN 88.5 FM.

"Once we acquired a dozen songs or so, we decided to take our new project out to the Philadelphia Folk Festival in 2013 to see how people would respond to our live music. We found that people really enjoyed our songs, and even more so, we got a real charge out of playing our original material! This year, we’re continuing the musical ride with some wonderful musicians like Stacy Weathers, Brian Flanagan, Steve Wheelock, and Vincent Feliciano! We don't feel constrained by genre. And many times, we don’t know how a song or project is going to come out until we complete it. We can produce a folk song, a blues tune, or a rocking number equally well as the mood calls for, and that’s truly exciting!"

Brenda comes from a rich background of traditional Irish music in Co. Meath. Growing up, there was plenty of music and dancing in her house - her father Noel plays banjo and her mother Lily was known to participate in the odd set dance. Younger siblings Emily and Paul also play fiddle and uilleann pipes.

Brenda has several All-Ireland Fleadh titles to her name both in solo and group competitions. She has just returned from a series of concerts in New York and is currently based in Dublin city centre where she regularly performs and teaches music. She is in the states for a year on a performer's visa with Mick Moloney and Green Fields of America. She'll be appearing with an amazing harpist and vocalist whose name is at present unknown.

Liz Hanley was raised in an Irish family in Boston and learned her traditional Irish and American folk repertoire from her father and grandfather. She studied classical violin at NYU and currently lives in Brooklyn. Continuous activities in the traditional music scenes of the US, Ireland and the UK, her distinctive voice and her affinity for various other music genres are resonating attributes of Hanley's interpretations.

JD MALONE AND THE EXPERTS

JD Malone calls himself a dad, husband, brother, son, brother, friend and recovering philosopher. He left out extraordinary musician and frontman for the well-oiled Experts. He carries a varied past that included playing sports and a stint in the Navy. After he left his roots in Bennington VT, he traveled widely where he finally settled in Philadelphia - got married, got a job, had kids, and found a fruitful creative outlet in music. He fronted Steamroller Picnic in the 90's, and from there formed relationships with some of Philly's top players, who eventually became his long time cohort, the Experts - which include Avery Coffee, Jim Miades, Tommy Geddes, and Nate Gonzalez... and Tom Hampton when he is in town.

His music is solid country tinged roadhouse rock, delivered with authority and driving swing. His numerous albums have been well received, and he is an all time favorite with live crowds. We are happy to have him back.

THE JOST PROJECT

Paul Jost (vocals, harmonica), Tony Miceli (vibraphones) and Kevin MacConnell (acoustic bass) make up the jazz collective initially formed by Tony and Kevin, with the purpose of performing the rock music they grew up with in a jazz format. The seeds of this idea were planted in Tony’s 2005 recording “Hippie Jazz”. When Tony heard Paul, a multi-talented musician as well as vocalist, he felt such a strong musical connection that he invited him to be part of the group. Because of Paul’s strong musical influence and arranging talent, Tony and Kevin were convinced the group should have Paul’s name and they became The Jōst Project.

The combination fit and The Jōst Project grew in popularity. Tony’s vibraphone stirs echoes of the famed Modern Jazz Quartet with Milt Jackson. Kevin’s lyrical playing is an essential element and Jost invokes blues, mainstream, and scat stylings in his unique introspective way bringing out the emotions contained in the songs. It’s immediately evident that these skilled artists each bring their distinctive experience and approach to this blended collective.

About the Music:

Standards from the Great American Songbook and the mainstream jazz repertoire have long held sway in jazz performances. But the so-called “baby boomers” and subsequent generations came of age with rock and roll, the Beatles, hard rock, and other genres which are rarely played by jazz groups. While the harmonies are not necessarily in line with more recognizable jazz progressions, such music is well within the scope of the modal and melody-based jazz of Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue” and other post-bop developments in jazz.

The ever-expanding repertoire of The Jōst Project include rock/pop classics as “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” (Iron Butterfly), “What a Day For a Day Dream” (John Sebastian; Loving Spoonful); “Sunshine Superman” (Donovan); “Walk This Way” (Aerosmith); “Tennessee Waltz” (Redd Stewart and Pee Wee King); “Come Together” and “And I Love Her” (The Beatles); “Kashmir” (Led Zepellin); “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” (Simon and Garfunkel); “Maybe I’m Amazed” (Paul McCartney); and “Can’t Find My Way Home” (Blind Faith). For good measure, jazz compositions like “Don’t Forget the Poet” (Encrico Pierannuzi); “Caravan” (Dizzy Gillespie); “Waltz New” (Jim Hall); and “Passion Dance” (McCoy Tyner) are also included in the group’s playlists. Give a listen to “Can’t Find My Way Home”, and you’ll get a taste of the unique sound of The Jōst Project and their exceptional artistry, originality and imagination.

Judy is the lead vocalist and percussionist of Judy Sings the Blues and with her tremendously powerful and wide range vocals, she will draw you in from the time she hits the stage. Eric Zoeckler is the lead guitar player. He grew up in the Washington D.C. music scene of the 80s learning his chops from area legends including Danny Gatton, Billy Hancock and Robert Gordon. Eric loves to entertain crowds and works hard to make sure everyone is having fun. As a singer and player, Eric draws energy from people and is engaging and fun to watch perform.

James Sudimak is the drummer for Judy Sings the Blues and has been playing drums since age 11. He attended The New School For Jazz & Contemporary Music in New York City from 2011 to 2013. With impeccable ability, style, timing and rhythm, he is the icing on the cake for the band!!

Carl Thompson, bass player, is affectionately known as "Smiley" to those that know him and see him on stage. He has been playing in local bands for over forty years and you can tell he loves what he does!! Providing a rich, mellow tone, rhythm and groove that shines through every song. Kelly began singing professionally in the tri-state area 37 years ago. She cut her Jazz teeth with kindhearted warriors of Jazz at Jams such as Gerts and The Blue Note, then, went on to win gigs at The Borgia Cafe, Zanzibar Blue, JJ's Grotto, and Pierre's Lounge.  She has showcased at Chestnut Cabaret, Steel City, Chaplin's, The Music Cafe, The Uptown Jazz Hour series, The Art Museum of Phila., Berks Jazzfest, and Jazzbridge's Jazz in the Wood.

In Kelly’s style, one can hear her move easily from empowered soul, to sweet vulnerability, to technical acrobatics, to raw emotion, to straight-ahead swing. She prides herself on always being able to stay true to herself and the music.

She co-led on two recordings: Inner Urge with Randy Sarles in the Dreambox Media label, and, Songs of Living with Dylan Taylor on C.I.M.P. (Creative Improvised Music Projects)

She has been a board certified clinical music therapist since 1982 and credits her clients with deepening her perception of range, texture, and emotional capacity of the human voice to express without words.

Bassist / Cellist / Composer and Arranger Dylan Taylor is a veteran mainstay of the greater Philadelphia area Jazz scene. During his busy career Dylan has provided the bottom anchor for name artists such as Lee Konitz, Freddie Hubbard, Mose Allison and Larry Coryell, and taken part in steady local Jazz engagements in Center City's better hotels with pianist Tom Lawton's trio at the Four Seasons and saxophonist Tony Williams' quartet at the RitzCarlton.

Taylor has recorded extensively for the C.I.M.P. label on respective releases with saxophonist Bobby Zankel, vibraphonist Khan Jamal and Vocalist Kelly Meashey, and was a longtime member of Bobby Zankel's "little big band," The Warriors of the Wonderful Sound, with recordings on Dreambox Media. In 2013 Taylor's musical score for the feature film Takao Dancer was premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Taylor's original composition, Art the Messenger, encapsulates Taylor's spiritual feelings regarding both his musicmaking/bandleading approach and his overall worldview: Specifically, that positive hope combined with the musical diversity displayed in his compositions weaving together AfroCuban,fusion, straight ahead, blues and avantgarde canplay a part in a larger message of connecting us all individually to something bigger than ourselves, a sum truly greater than its parts. As Dylan Taylor states, "I hope that my music can contribute in some way to this process."

SUZANNE CLOUD/TOM GLENN QUARTET

Most recently, the Cloud/Glenn duo has performed at Chris' Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia, the Paris Wine Bar, and Cheltenham Center for the Arts.

As a singer, Cloud has recorded with such notables as jazz fusion pioneer Eddie Green, pianist Uri Caine, bassist Gerald Veasley, tenor man Larry McKenna, pianist Jim Ridl, guitarist Jef Lee Johnson, and baritone saxophonist Denis DiBlasio.

Glenn's compositions have garnered him an EMMY Award and BILLBOARD honorable mention. He has composed 20 musical scores for PBS Television, and over 40 music scores for NFL Films. He has performed with Chuck Berry, Sammy Davis Jr., Nancy Wilson, Alice Cooper, and Major Harris.

Jim Miller is a world class drummer and a staple of the Philadelphia jazz scene. His many projects and collaborators are far too many to list, but rest assured his playing always resonates with a crowd. Jim Miller was a recipient of the  ”Jazz Hero Award” from the Jazz Journalist’s Association in 2013.

Nicholas Krolak is one of the most in-demandbassists in Philadelphia.He has toured with the Glen Miller Orchestra and leads his own quartet, which has just released its first album”Chicory Root”.

DUKES OF DESTINY

In 1985, five young, local musicians got together and began playing old blues songs in a rambling three-story house in Philadelphia. They decided to take the act on the road as The Dukes of Destiny, a name they got from a matchbook cover urging the reader to “Be the Captain of Your Own Destiny.” At first, The Dukes of Destiny played house parties in Germantown, generating interest by word of mouth. A gig at the now-defunct Taker’s Café in Germantown launched their public career, and 30 years later, they are still playing some of the hottest, most danceable blues and old school soul in the Philadelphia area. Today The Dukes of Destiny reign as Philadelphia’s longest-lived and best loved blues act. Featuring John Colgan-Davis, Arlyn Wolters, Rich Curtis, Bob Holden, "Chicago" Carl Snyder and SJ Kuzmicki.

Mark Erelli finished up a graduate degree in evolutionary biology shortly after his eponymous debut was released on Signature Sounds in 1999. He has won several prestigious awards, including the Kerrville New Folk contest and the International Song Contest, where a song he co-wrote with Catie Curtis ("People Look Around") bested 15,000 entries to win the grand prize. For the past 18 years, he has maintained a rigorous touring schedule, appearing onstage everywhere from coffeehouses and major folk festival stages (Newport, Philadelphia) to Fenway Park, where he once sang the national anthem before a Red Sox game. In recent years, Erelli has gained notoriety as a multi-instrumentalist sideman and producer, accompanying GRAMMY-winning artists such as Lori McKenna, Paula Cole and Josh Ritter everywhere from Nashville's Grand Ole Opry to London's Royal Albert Hall. In addition to producing two records for McKenna, Erelli's own diverse discography includes collections of western swing, lullabies, bluegrass (with his band Barnstar!) and songs of stirring social conscience, as well as several highly-acclaimed collaborations (2009's Darwin Song Project and 2010's Seven Curses, a collection of murder ballads recorded with Jeffrey Foucault). ASARAN EARTH TRIO

A collective of vocalists from different corners of the globe (as well as the set up to a great punchline), Asaran Earth Trio is a group dedicated to signing beautiful music from around the world. With New York City as their figurative ‘bar’, Asaran came together out of the desire to take different traditions in new directions, combining folk elements together with the adventure of group improvisation and each member’s musical ‘history’. Together they sing, clap, play percussion and are known to cause groups of strangers to break out in song, laugh, cry, dance and shake some groovy shakers. Asaran features Astrid Kuljanic from Croatia, Artemisz Polonyi from Hungary and Anne Boccato from Brazil. They love to share their music and stories all around the Earth - in living rooms, theaters, houses of worship, festivals, on the street and even in actual bars.

Anne Boccato is a pianist, composer and vocalist born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. She has been living in the United States for over 10 years, enjoying the Jazz scene in New York City, teaching piano lessons and performing her own music, as well as collaborating with some wonderful musicians. Her aim is to connect people to each other and to a snapshot of her inner life through her compositions, be they instrumental or songs sung in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Her love of languages is matched only by her love of watching her students go “aha!” and smile with satisfaction. When she’s not rolling around on the floor singing songs with 4-year-olds, Anne can be found coming up with her best musical ideas in the shower (though she’d prefer you didn’t come find her there).

Croatian vocalist Astrid Kuljanic has immersed herself in an eclectic variety of musical traditions from around the world. Her journey from Eastern Europe and Balkan music influences to New York has allowed her to absorb Jazz, Brazilian, and Indian music and acquire an advanced knowledge of performing with electronics using Ableton Live. Ms. Kuljanic’s mission is to engage audiences across cultural boundaries. To that end she founded Crescendo Music Festival (Croatia) that has helped local audiences connect with a diverse array artists. With her quintet ‘Mildreds’ she has toured Europe and released two albums for the major Croatian label Aquarius Records. Astrid holds Bachelor of Music from the Conservatory G. Tartini, Trieste, Italy, and a Masters of Music degree in Jazz Performance from Manhattan School of Music.

Hungarian Artemisz Polonyi is a singer deeply immersed in jazz, folk and choral music currently living in New York City. She fell in love with singing harmonies (favorite being the moving middle voice) during her childhood, when in Hungary she was surrounded with the Kodaly tradition singing folk songs and choral music. In her adult life she is mostly required to sing very high notes, sometimes in a cappella groups, sometimes in choirs and quite rarely in jazz groups. Artemisz performs in New York City with her jazz trio, conducts her chorus which experiments with world music and improvisation and teaches voice in her studio and introduction to music in public schools as a teaching artist.

The inspiration for the songs on this CD are related to this house in one way or another because at the age when I started learning all my musical influences come from the music I was listening to growing up. From the drunk on the town to the cop on the take, there’s an interesting tale in the songs of Jefferson Berry. These songs are performed by a collection of unique players: The Urban Acoustic Coalition. The band is anchored by the virtuosity of Bud Burroughs and Dave Brown. 2017’s release of The Habit is the fourth collaboration between Berry and keyboard and mandolin wizard Burroughs. Brown and Berry’s musical relationship came together with benefit shows for Katrina victims and has grown in the fest campgrounds. Brown plays electric guitar, keyboards, dobro, banjo, mandolin and fretless bass as needed. Complementing this with a variety of guitar styles, Berry’s projects bring a danceable style and contemporary point of view to a unique wing of the folk scene.

Singing songs about the city, Berry’s Urban Acoustic themes bridge the broad sensibilities of the Americana genre with the tales of city living.  Helping out with this singing have been a cadre of excellent female vocalists:  Irene Lambrou (lead singer for Almshouse), Emily Drinker (named 2017’s Philadelphia Songwriter of the Year), Briana Berry (lead singer for The Berrys) and studio pro Becka Cooper. 

Marky B, one of the area’s premier chromatic and blues harmonica players deepens the band’s soulful approach.  And while appealing to jam band and folk audiences, the band is driven by the bass & drums cadre of Dean McNulty and David Rapoport into what is best described as high-end Folk Rock

Eric Taylor is a sage musician, a lyrical genius and a master of the guitar. If you're familiar with the intricate Texas singer/ songwriter jigsaw puzzle, you probably already know a lot about Taylor. If you're not familiar with Taylor by name, you've probably heard his songs performed by people such as Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett. He has created a multitude of fans and devotees that are legends themselves in the singer/songwriter realm, artists who have long considered Taylor to be a teacher and a lantern bearer whose time is long overdue.

Taylor grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and started playing soul music in his early years, steeping himself in the rich cultural heritage of the black South. "I've written poetry all my life," Taylor recounts. "When I learned how to play guitar, it was a natural progression to write songs." After high school, a brief stint at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, just "didn't work out," according to Taylor.

"Music lured me away," says Taylor. "I thought I'd make my way to California like everybody else back then but I ran out of money and ended up in Houston." It's a good thing he never made it to California, because the musical environment in Houston during the '70s was just what Taylor needed to inspire him.

Taylor learned intricate blues guitar stylings from music legends Lightnin' Hopkins, Mance Lipscomb and Mississippi Fred McDowell while working at the Family Hand club. Later, he developed his own unique guitar picking style, that would be imitated by many of his contemporaries from the early Houston days, such as Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, and Nanci Griffith. "There were no lines drawn in the sand between musical genres in Houston back in those days," Taylor remembers. "You were just a musician. I believe so many great writers came out of that scene because you could learn from others. Isn't that the point of this whole thing?"

In 1977 Taylor was a winner of the "New Folk" competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Shameless Love, his first album, came out in 1981, and after a hiatus of almost 14 years, he returned with the self-titled Eric Taylor, released in 1995. His eponymous release was chosen as the 1996 Kerrville Folk Festival Album of the Year. Three years later he released Resurrect, and it was subsequently named one of the "100 essential records of all time" by Buddy magazine. Taylor has headlined the prestigious Newport Folk Festival, played National Public Radio's "Mountain Stage" and has appeared on both "Late Night With David Letterman" with Nanci Griffith and "Austin City Limits" with Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, and Robert Earl Keen.

"To say that Eric Taylor is one of the finest writers of our time, would be an understatement," Nanci Griffith says. "If you miss an opportunity to hear Eric Taylor, you have missed a chance to hear a voice I consider the William Faulkner of songwriting in our current time." Griffith has recorded several of Taylor's songs, including "Deadwood," "Storms," "Dollar Matinee" and "Ghost in the Music," which they wrote together. Lyle Lovett, who has recorded Taylor's "Memphis Midnight/Memphis Morning," “Whooping Crane,” “Understand You,” and with whom Taylor co-wrote the immensely popular "Fat Babies," compares Taylor's narrative voice to that of Bruce Springsteen. Iain Matthews claims, "Once you become a Taylor fanatic, it gives one immense joy and pride to be able to enlighten others to the man's work."

2001 brought forth Scuffletown, and shortly following its release, Taylor was a featured artist on "Austin City Limit's" and NPR's "Morning Edition." The Kerrville Tapes (2003) is his first live album, recorded during three years of appearances at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival.

In 2004, heeding repeated requests by fans and media, Taylor re-mastered the vinyl Shameless Loveand reissued it as a CD with 2 never-released-before bonus tracks. 

In the spring of 2005, Taylor returned to Rock Romano's Red Shack in Houston to record his 5th studio album, The Great Divide. Garnering rave reviews at home and abroad, The Great Divide quickly reached #3 on the Euro Americana Chart and in 2006 was named one of the Top Releases Most Played by Folk Radio.

Hollywood Pocketknife, released in 2007, is a 10-song collection that shows Taylor in his prime as a writer and performer, with his exquisite narrative style, his keen, studied observation of the human spirit, and his intricate, roots-driven guitar work. Produced by Taylor, Hollywood Pocketknife also features a stellar cast of musicians, including Eric Demmer (saxophone), David Webb (keyboard, Hammond organ), Mathias Schneider (lap steel), James Gilmer (percussion), Vince Bell (vocals), Steven Fromholz (vocals), and Susan Lindfors (vocals).

In January 2008, Eric Taylor and Hollywood Pocketknife were nominated for FolkWax's Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year.

In early 2011 Taylor decided to bring together some of his oldest friends and favorite musicians for a live recording. In May 2011 we recorded 2 nights live at The Red Shack studio in Houston, Texas. There was a film crew and live studio audience. Nanci Griffith flew in from Nashville to sing, Lyle Lovett came in to sing, Denice Franke and Susan Lindfors Taylor came in to sing, Marco Python Fecchio flew in from Milan, Italy to play electric guitar, and James Gilmer joined in to play percussion. We captured 2 magical nights of music and friendship and Houston history. The performances are stunning, and this Live At The Red Shack CD is unlike anything out there. It's a combination live record / retrospective record / celebration of friends. Named One Of The Top 10 Albums Of The Year (Texas Music magazine) and Best Of 2012 – Live Album (Third Coast Music magazine).

In June 2013, Taylor released his 10th CD, aptly named Studio 10. Also recorded at the Red Shack, Studio 10 features 9 new songs penned by Taylor and a cover of Tim Grimm’s “Cover These Bones.” Eric Taylor’s compassionate storytelling and song theater at their finest, painting an always colorful cast of characters making it through this world. Some songs are tributes to friends who have passed – “Bill” (Bill Morrissey), “Francestown” (in a Dave-van-Ronk vein), “String Of Pearls.” Some songs from a woman’s perspective (“Molly’s Painted Pony,” “Adios”). “Reno” and “Dark Corner Ice Water” showcase the intricate narrative quality and unique theater aspect of Taylor’s writing that sets him apart. Two songs – “Tully’s Titles” and “Tully” – were written for the Storyworks.TV documentary film Road Kid to Writer – The Tracks of Jim Tully, and resulted in an Emmy nomination for Taylor for Music Composition in the summer of 2016.

In today's music scene there are hundreds of talented guitarists vying for the brass ring, and there are many, many great players out there. But there are very few with the heart and soul of Bobby Kyle. Blunt and to the point, Bobby's singular styling resonates with maturity, talent and inspiration, bringing us a genesis of contemporary music that is characteristically all his own.

Kyle, who now leads his own high-energy quartet at clubs and festivals around the Northeast, spent eight years touring the world with the late guitarist, songwriter and singer Johnny 'Clyde' Copeland. Copeland was one of contemporary blues' more gifted songwriters, breaking new lyrical and thematic ground with each new album he recorded through the 1980s and '90s.

Bobby was backing up Bill Dicey by the late seventies, and the pair later became a duo. In the early eighties, Bobby joined the house band at the Stuffed Pepper, a Tampa Bay blues mecca. There he worked with such luminaries as James Peterson, Johnny Shines, Raful Neal, Mary McClain Smith, and Tabby Thomas.

In 1984 Handy Award Nominee Eddie Kirkland invited Bobby to join his band. After six years with Eddie, Bobby joined the band of Grammy Award winner and 2017 Blues Hall of Fame Inductee, Johnny 'Clyde' Copeland. Bobby performed with this legendary Texas bluesman on major-label recordings, and in concerts, festivals, and clubs worldwide until Johnny's death in 1997.

Between touring dates with Eddie Kirkland and Johnny Copeland, Bobby took his solo act on the road, performing his own material at nightclubs and festivals throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Bobby's emotional, soulful voice rings true, and is forged with a raw, distinctive quality all his own. Honest and forthright, Bobby's original songs tell the story of the every person, with a passion born of life, love, and loss.

Recently, Bobby has had the great honor of being inducted into The Blues Hall of Fame. ​He now tours with The Administers, who are comprised of Everett Boyd on bass and Marc Copell on drums.

DEB CALLAHAN BAND

Philadelphia’s blues and soul drenched vocalist and songwriter Deb Callahan grew up in the Boston area but has been a mainstay on the mid-Atlantic music scene since the late 90’s.  During this time she has gained a reputation for writing creative blues, soul and roots influenced original music and using her powerful, expressive voice to deliver an exciting live show. Her 2002 debut CD “If the Blues Had Wings” was featured as the hot debut in the October/November 2004 issue of Blues Revue MagazineBlues Revue referred to her as the next Bonnie Raitt and raved “Philly’s Deb Callahan has the pipes, the songs and the raw talent to graduate to the next level”.

Deb released her 5th CD “Sweet Soul” Sept 1, 2015 on Blue Pearl Records. The CD, produced by renowned producer and drummer Tony Braunagel, was recorded at Ultratone Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Deb and guitar player Allen James  traveled to Los Angeles in February 2015 to record the tracks with an all star studio line-up including Johnny Lee Schell, engineering and slide guitar, Mike Finnigan on keyboards, Reggie McBride on bass, Braunagel on drums and James on guitar. This group of LA musicians have recorded and toured with performers such as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal so it was a truly wonderful experience to play with and learn from each one.

It’s been almost 5 years since Deb’s last CD, “Tell It Like It Is” was released. Shortly after this release, Deb became a mom to her now 4 year old son Elijah. The experience of being a new mom has had a direct impact on her writing and focus in her life. The songs from “Sweet Soul” were written during an overall sweet and rich phase of life. Deb worked with James and Chris Arms (who produced Deb’s last 3 CD’s) to write the original material and with producer Braunagel to find some gems written by others that fit the vibe as well. The mood of this blues, soul, roots CD is upbeat, rockin, funky and fun and explores the theme of love and family with an honest and at times humorous view into both its joys and challenges. This includes the experience of loving a child or partner, the connection and sweetness you feel when you slow down and just be present with ones you love, the pain and difficulty of letting go of a family member, the ups and downs of living with someone, the inner tension about balancing family and career, the energy it takes to keep things running to do a lot of different things in life.

“Sweet Soul” has been receiving some wonderful national and international airplay on blues and triple A radio stations as well as great press and reviews. KING TAYLOR PROJECT

Sandi King and Joshua Taylor formed soul-blues band King Taylor Project in 2016 in San Diego, California.  Sandi and Josh are joined by core members David Ryan “davyrockett” Norgren, Josh Weinstein, Jay Chu, and Eric Strickler, and supported by an extended family of incredible collaborators.  KTP performs frequently around Southern California in multiple formats ranging from an electric trio to their full lineup.  They tour and record independently, provide studio and live backing support for other artists, and host and produce The About!... Podcast, a comedic arts/entertainment show primarily featuring guests from the music industry.

Joshua Taylor grew up in Oklahoma City and first picked up the guitar at the age of 13.  Thereafter self-taught, Josh spent several years of his early adulthood studying music in his spare time, poring over textbooks and publicly available college lectures, studying his favorite records, consulting remotely with professors, and scrutinizing performance videos of his favorite players.  By day he meandered half-heartedly through several years in the Navy, flirtation with academia, and training as a marriage and family therapist.

After a few years as a part-time singer-songwriter, Josh got his first batch of tunes together and self-released his debut solo album, About Time, in 2015.  The record invited collaborations that would later become the seed for King Taylor Project—Sandi King and KTP keyboardist Josh Weinstein both performed on the album.

Energetic, colorful, powerhouse vocalist Sandi King has been performing since she was ten years old.  The daughter of a jazz trumpeter, Sandi grew up in San Diego singing in front of big bands and in school choirs and musicals.  Though her adult life initially took her to cafés and service industry jobs, through culinary school and into the kitchen, Sandi nurtured her passion for singing by night, haunting karaoke joints in San Francisco and playing a major supporting role in a three-year run of indie rock opera, Abigail.

Sandi took a leap into full-time music in 2011 with her first project, Americana duo 22 Kings.  She quickly learned the responsibilities of self-management and became a capable booker through extensive independent regional and national touring and local engagements.  Her first project released two albums that included studio contributions from Ed Kornhauser, Peter Bolland, Ross Harper, Jodie Hill, Jesse Bowen, Sven-Erik Seaholm, and Delta Rae producer Alex Wong.  The albums also featured Sandi’s first collaborations with her fiancé and KTP co-founder Joshua Taylor and KTP bassist davyrockett.

Since the time he learned to walk Dustin Douglas has had a guitar in his hands and a song in is his soul. Lemongelli released three independent records and shared the stage with Heart, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard and Eddie Money to name a few.

Becoming one of the most sought after live and session guitarists in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Dustin joined the legendary Pennsylvania rock band, The Badlees in which he recorded "Epiphones and Empty Rooms" and supported Bob Seger on his 2013 arena tour.

Summer 2017 found the release of BLUES 1, a collection of classic blues covers including cuts by John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Albert King and Freddie King, as well as a new original song. With BLUES 1 Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentlemen have cemented themselves in the blues world.

AMERANOUCHE

The award winning Ameranouche (pronounced uh-Mare-uh-noosh) plays a passionate style of music they call “Gypsy Flamenco Swing.”  They are veterans of the Newport Jazz Festival, Djangofest Northwest, Muzikfest Bethlehem, PA and the National Press Club.  The name is derived from two words: American and Manouche, the gypsy tribe of guitarist Django Reinhardt.  The rip-roaring ensemble is a super force of hot acoustic Gypsy inspired music mixing Flamenco, Bebop and Jazz swing influences. Played on traditional French jazz guitars, the music is rhythmic, vigorous, and elegant.  Whether they’re playing a musette waltz from 1930 or an Andalusian inspired original tune, Ameranouche’s Gypsy Flamenco Swing style is a fresh and highly enjoyable new sound for the 21st century.

Richard “Shepp” Sheppard, Guitar, comes from southern New Jersey. He attended the Berklee School of Music, studied guitar and composition with Pat Martino in Philadelphia, studied composition and aesthetics with Dr. Frank Haas in Vineland, NJ and studied guitar with Attilla Zoller in Southern Vermont. He has taught guitar, composition, and music theory as a faculty member of Bennington College (Bennington, Vermont) and Pittsfield Community Music School (Pittsfield, Massachusetts). He has performed and done shows with many different artists. Among these are John Jorgenson, Ritary Ensemble, Rick Danko, Taj Mahal, Hot Tuna, and Vassar Clements, to name just a few.

A versatile bassist, Michael K. Harrist finds work in various musical traditions.  He has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe with various artists including new music ensemble Capillary Action and Ross Daly and Kelly Thoma of Crete.  Mike is a respected member of the Boston music community and plays regionally with Orkestra Marhaba and jazz great Joe Hunt, among others. He composes and writes songs for the Çeşni Trio, Harrist Family Band and Sol & Kiel. Mike draws heavily from his background in Jazz improvisation and his studies of Hindustani music, Ottoman Art Music and the Western Classical tradition.

Julian Loida is a percussionist, multimedia artist, and curator exploring repertoire spanning Western Classical Music, to Cuban Bata drumming, to Jazz and R&B.  Julian grew up in St. Louis with his rock band Project 324 along with the St. Louis Youth Orchestra.  Since then he has gone on to perform with Alarm Will Sound, the Callithumpian Consort, and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.  He has attended some of the country’s most prestigious music festivals such as Spoleto Music Festival USA, the National Orchestral Institute, the Chautauqua Music Festival, and Round Top Music Festival.

Sons of Pitches hail from the Mason Dixon line on the Pennsylvania/Maryland border where Pheil owns a recording studio.  The band released its first self-titled album in November 2016.  Collectively, Sons of Pitches has thousands of shows under its belt.  The band has already received high praise for its live shows, varied set lists, and inspiring musicianship.  Their goal is to create music for ordinary folks.  Their brand of improvisation is meant to be visceral and tactile: music for the people.
